I looked at Snapchat.  One setting that you can control is putting your phone number into the account.  By putting you phone number more people friend you.  By not putting your phone number your your account is more private, but you can still be found by your email address or your user name.  Another setting you can control is you can manage who sees your Snapchat stories and Snapchats by sending to certain contacts.  Also if you are not sure of who someone is or someone has sent you things in ths past that were not acceptable you can block that sender.  You can manage how long your Snapchat stays on the screen on the person you send it to, but if the recipient takes a screen shot they can keep the messege.  So always be careful what send out whether on Snapchat or any other social media site.

Good points, Randy.  I also think it is good to check back every so often to check the settings because the policies on these sites can change without the users really being aware.

Randy-a good reminder that once you put something "out there" you can't take it back, and keeping your phone number private is a great way to keep your "friends" your "friends".
