The most common occurrence of inappropriate use of digital media I can think of is just not following the rules of the classroom. Students should be at one site, but instead are shopping, checking sports sites, or looking at inappropriate images. Some may be having ongoing conversations through email or chat sites when their attention should be on the instructions from the teacher. It is so easy to be distracted by all the "other stuff" on the internet. I can't tell you the number of "he said/she said" conversations that go on during study halls.
