I think that any use of social media during the workday is inappropriate unless it is tied directly to your work. Too many times, I see teachers have posted online or made comments on Facebook during the school day. I don't care if it's recess or your lunch. It seems to me that posting on school time not only looks unprofessional but sends the wrong message to others. I do have a school Facebook page and I will sometimes post things that I am doing on there but my personal page stays "quiet" until after 3:45. It seems like it should be common knowledge but it happens more often than not.
