There was once a negative post about me as a coach on social media from a parent. The parent heard about an incident at practice that was told inaccurately by their student-athlete. The parent went and posted on social media blasting me as a coach as well as others. Other parents commented who knew nothing of the story which led to it being a bigger story than it needed to be. Once the parent found out the real events they felt bad and apologized, but the damaged had already been done on social media. This obviously could have been avoided if people would communicate person to person before going to social media to "vent"
