In the fast changing world of technology, I feel it is important for users to have defined rights before engaging in Digital Citizenship. An obligation, of the user should be to understand how the digital world can leave a footprint, everywhere the user goes. In addition, I feel it is important for users to understand their responsibilities of engaging in the digital world. It is important for users to understand how being a sound digital citizen can not only impact their lives, but those in other parts of the digital world. Responsibilities of a digital citizen should include defined expectations and a clear plan on how to navigate within the unknown. In addition, there should be a plan of what to do if a problem occurs. It is important that students and families work together to make it a safe environment for all.
