I believe that the digital frontier should allow people to communicate freely and while at the same time protecting peoples' privacy and personal information. The creation of the internet is by far, in my opinion, the greatest change in how people go about their daily lives that has been developed in my lifetime. And while there are certainly pitfalls that are unique to the online world, I think that the same basic guidelines that should be taught to students about the 'real world' can be applied to the digital world. Politeness when conversing with others, caution when dealing with strangers, and discernment when evaluating information are important citizenship lessons/skills for young people to cultivate whether it's in the real world or the digital world.
