I think it should be a norm that every person has the right to be treated with respect in the digital world. If the norm was to treat people how you are expected to treat people face-to-face it would create an environment where people could utilize their freedom of speech without devolving into insults and threats. There should also be a norm for privacy in the digital world. Ideally, people should not have to worry about being doxed or blackmailed online. I think each digital user has the responsibility to treat others with respect and use their online "voice" to build people up instead of tearing people down. I think each user also has the responsibility to use digital tools and online spaces wisely by utilizing passwords and other safety features and not oversharing personal information online.
