I believe access to all should be a digital right, but how that access is controlled is/can be a problem. We are one to one here. The students are in my opinion "overly" restricted. We have had NO digital citizenship training nor have they...so the access is strictly controlled by the tech department. My opinion is grant access...my students in science can not research on their own. The sites they try to visit are blocked. Teach them digital citizenship and what their responsibilities are and the consequences of violating the responsibilities and give them access.
What are their responsibilities...easy...do what is right.
