DC Safety

Tina Breen
I checked facebook and Diigo settings for two accounts, one I use personally and one professionally.  I do check my facebook settings about once a month.  I have got into the habit of checking what other people can see when they go to my page.  If there is something that has been posted to my wall where I am uncomfortable, I either delete or hide it.  By doing this assignment, it reminds me to be careful of what I post in regards to photos -- especially of the athletes that I coach of a younger age.  Not all parents may appreciate a post even when the team has done well.

Diigo - the settings are limited to who can see.  I know I haven't used the tool professionally to purposely connect with educators too outside of my own school district.

I liked what Ben Smith said in his video clip.  Ask, "Am I comfortable with sharing this info with a complete stranger?  Am I comfortable sharing this on the 6 O'Clock news?"  If the answer is no to either one, then don't share.
