Being a role model as an educator, parent, guardian, etc. is the first step towards digital citizenship. Students need to be taught (and retaught!) the basics of internet safety. With this foundation and understanding, students should have the right to access information, databases, collaborative projects, online assignments and communications all within a school district's expectation and adherence to set appropriate internet policy.
