Digital Citizenship Internet Safety

Kathy Steffensmeier
I viewed my Twitter & Snapchat accounts.  In my opinion, the settings that the user should be aware of are privacy settings, password security, and the location.  Most people do not want everyone to see their posts, so the privacy setting should be on private not public. When it comes to the password security, I was glad to see the my twitter account had a login verification and a password security option. Also, I feel it is important to keep your location private, so I was able to disable my location.

I am new at the social network, Snapchat.  I was impressed with the terms and usage agreement on Snapchat.  Reading about how Snapchat collects and shares information was very insightful.  Even with the settings set for privacy on your account, it does not mean that the user you send the to information will keep it private.  They can save the information or copy it outside of the app.  A good point to remember from the video is to ask yourself “If you are comfortable sharing it on the six o’clock news”
