It is more important now than ever, for teachers to educate students' about rights and responsibilities in the digital world, as the use of technology increases. As a former military member I was constantly being trained and educated on the dangers of the cyber world. Now as a substitute teacher I feel that is a very important to pass along this vital information for generations to come. Some areas of noteworthy topics would be freedom of speech, plagiarism and copyright laws, appropriate content, validity of information, and finally security from cyber criminals and/or predators, to include protection from stolen identity.
