Digital Citizenship: Theft of Intellectual Property
When information, a picture , a poem , a song or some other work is on the internet, whose property is it? Unfortunately, many learners do not understand fair use, correct citation, rewriting in their own voice and theft.
Using someone else's work improperly is the same as stealing that work.
Re: Digital Citizenship: Theft of Intellectual Property
My number one pet peeve from anyone. Especially from a student. You need to "give credit where credit is due." I was taught this in HS and it still applies today! If you want credit for the work you hand in, then do the work. Don't take the easy road and steal from others. The earlier you start this trend, the harder it will be to stop. No one wants a person on their team who doesn't do the work, yet takes credit for it!
