As educators we are constantly working on students' face to face citizenship in terms of appropriate communication. The need for digital citizenship expands our role because every student is involved in some sort of digital communication. Proper digital citizenship is very important not only because of volume, but because people can hide behind screen names and may be more likely to be inappropriate. It opens up a whole new area of training for educators.
