Digital Etiquette

A breach of digital etiquette that occurred in our elementary building this year was students contacting their parents on their smart watches or phones  telling them they were sick and wanted to be picked up. Their parents would then show up and the child hadn't even went down to the nurses office. This example, even though it is not inappropriate in a vulgar way, was an inappropriate use of device and we have strengthen our cell phone policy due to this and some other misuses. As a counselor I believe digital citizenship should be age appropriately taught in all grades of school even with our youngest learners. They have have devices in school and many have them out of school as well.
