In our ever increasing world of internet and digital communication our students need to have the right to feel safe while they are online. With predators and ill mannered people it is so important that efforts are constantly made to make sure that safety is at the forefront. I think it is going to be harder and harder to monitor this as technology changes so rapidly!
All people, have the responsibility to treat each other people respectfully while online. I see things on Facebook where people rant and rave and cut others down. Its a shame. In order to slow things down like this I feel digital citizenship is an area that we need to focus on at an earlier age. This will help prepare students to handle themselves in this manner safely and responsibly.
