Digital Norms

Chelsea.Belcher
I think a user right that is exploited is the use of cookies. Yes, you have the right to select what cookies the website uses but the preferred choice for everywhere in America is just accept all cookies. You have to read the directions and click a link to be able to read the choices and decide. In other countries when you visit a website it pops up all of the cookies choices and they are all set to only necessary cookies, unless you choose otherwise. Accepting all cookies gives companies so much information and the ability to track what you do.
I think everyone should have the right to their information being secured and not shared. I think every child should have the right to only have content that is age appropriate available to them.
I think that users should be responsible for understanding what internet scams look like, how to protect their personal information, and how to monitor their children's digital presence.

I agree cookies can definitely be an issue.
