I have heard in many instances where students and teachers have made contact through social media, and through unfortunate miscommunications there have been major repercussions on both sides.
In these instances, I believe it is important to err on the side of caution and limit contact with students in most cases, especially outside the school walls.
As educators it is important to maintain high standards and take extra precautions so that we can protect ourselves and our students.
I hope that my students always have the ability to access digital media in safe and protective ways that enhance their ability to learn.
