Digital Rights and Responsibilities - Zach Smith

I think as humans we should all have a right to our privacy when it comes to using digital tools. As a person who uses the web, we should have a right to know what is happening when it comes to what is happening with our data and what we do on the web. I think we could do a better job, especially in education of creating equal opportunities so everyone has the right to internet and technology.


We should have the freedom to speak our opinions and thoughts online, while still being respectful and reasonable. Along with privacy, I also think everyone should be able to have the right to quality security in case something does happen to their personal digital information. Lastly I think everyone should be taught on how to use and what to do and not do when it comes to digital usage.

As goes for our responsibilities, we need to make sure as humans that we are respecting others. Avoid arguing, being aggressive, harass others, or bullying others online. Make sure what we are posting and sharing is appropriate and not harmful to others. Avoid doing anything illegal, such as downloading, uploading, and using tools on the internet for harm rather than good (chat gpt as an example). Lastly, just making sure that we are protecting ours and others we care about' digital footprint.
