What user rights do you feel should be part of the norms in this digital world? What user responsibilities do you feel should be expressed in this digital world?
User rights should be on a continuum from K through 12 - scaffolded as users brains develop. In this pandemic-era, we have learned how valuable online content can be, but also how hard it is to deliver. Our user rights should reflect their developmental age and ability to access class content. There may be differences between what a user's rights look like in a school/on a school device and what it looks like at home on a home device. There can be tension in those differences.
User responsibilities should reflect the same values we think about in person. If you won't say something directly to a person sitting next to you, you don't say it to them behind the shield of the device/platform you are on. I think it is hard to instill this idea in students when there are so many examples of adults behaving in the exact opposite way all day, every day.
