Digital Rights and Responsibilities

Stephanie Wheatley
As a high school English/Leadership teacher, I find it imperative to teach digital rights and responsibilities to students.  In an age where technology is an "infused" part of our lives, people (students and adults) have become immune to the fact that for every post, tweet, or snap, there will be some sort of reaction/consequence.  Although the world is "at our hands," the responsibility of this is great.  Students should be taught the importance of a "digital footprint"(meaning what they post will follow them), the key to researching and deciphering the difference between valid resources, etc.  Obviously it is very important to teach students the rights and responsibilities in this technological age.
