My daughter worked in the marketing and media department at the college I graduated from. Many advances have been made by the use of DC internet and media but, for some reason, my college created an on campus gossip or public forum on the internet so students could voice their experiences and concerns. It was a disaster.
Within days it became a landing zone of bullying and criticizing of fellow students and professors, the curriculum and the bad and ugly of the college itself. Girls were targeted for sexual exploitation and bullying. Real names were used as to this girl will do this...or this girl is available for this.
Professors were condemned and "fried" by students for unsubstantiated complaints of bias and racial slurs.
Not a good thing.
The site was finally removed but not before an eye opening experience of how "bad" certain offerings can turn.
