Facebook comments vs Instagram comments

I work with a student at our school to post school activities and pictures on our school Facebook account. Sometimes even things that you wouldn't think would be controversial end up having inappropriate comments posted by members of the community. We've tried to turn off comments, but it seems that you can only do that for group posts. So we have notifications for set up for comments so that we can keep track of them. Does anyone else have any suggestions for how to manage comments? We also post on our school's Instagram account - it's much easier to turn off comments for an Instagram post than for Facebook.
