Facebook safety

Brandon O'Neill
Hi,
I looked at Facebook settings.  I don't think we need to worry as much about Facebook with students, since they seemed to have largely moved on to Instagram, but I did look at my privacy settings.  It is not the easiest thing to get to your own privacy settings.  A few clicks and you are there.  I was largely satisfied with the way my privacy settings are set.  I did learn that you can hide comments containing certain words on your timeline.

Re: Facebook safety

I agree, the students I encounter seemed to have all moved on from Facebook.  As a substitute teacher I have experience in many schools and many different grade levels.  Much of the information discussed in this course have already been incorporated into school lessons (Seminar, Counseling, etc).  The dissemination of internet safety information seems to be focused on the elementary school students as they, like adults, still use social media that most teens have moved away from (old fashioned).
