I am currently a 3rd grade teacher and we talk about financial literacy in a variety of ways. We introduce Economy in Social studies. We discuss why we need money and how it effects our community. We talk about saving money and where they can keep it and where they will use that money. We also do a project where they have to plan a vacation and they have to figure out how much money they will need for that trip.
