I work with middle school ELL students, and this course has made me look at how to teach them about the US's financial system. I am simply starting with coins, their pronunciation and value. I have accompanied them to our school store and assisted them with their purchases, but now I will include savings, checking, debit cards, credit cards, banks, credit unions, etc. as part of their math. Hopefully, they will be able to share this knowledge at home.
