Financial Literacy Subbing

Christine Shank
While I am a substitute teacher, I am very well rounded when it comes to money.  I have a accounting degree and worked in a accounting department of some sort for over 20 years.

Since I sub in K-12, but mostly in the upper grades I can relate most of my knowledge with them.   Talking with students I feel that students at this level benefit greatly from knowing how best to plan and manage their money.   I also give them a lot of personal experiences I have done that have been good financial moves, and also bad financial decisions.

Since most members still link spoke German as a primary language at this time, and all meetings were conducted in German, link the Society took pains to collect books that would be helpful and readable. But the reference on this card to recent literature in English suggests that things were starting to change. By 1930, English was the primary language of link the newly rebranded Horological Society of New York.
