Financial Literacy and Music

I teach high school music.  While teaching financial literacy doesn't directly connect to our usual curriculum, I think it could be incorporated. I could have the students create a financial plan for a musical production or budget for the upcoming music trip.

why dont you use it as a tool for planning to buy your first musical instrument?

I am not a professional teacher by any stretch but I do know that many students who take music in high school do not necessarily end up becoming music teachers or musicians. such students to me could have bought used instruments instead of new if financial literacy had been taught in schools .
