As a teacher working with elementary students and more recently homeschooling my own young children, I find it important to integrate financial literacy into other subjects covered throughout the day. Helping students develop a strong understanding for needs vs. wants, work ethic and how it relates to money, decision making and how it relates to money, and the basic counting of money are all important aspects and can be taught throughout the year. These areas are all easily intertwined with social studies, science, language arts, reading, and math.
