Financial Literacy in Content Area

Deborah Crocker
I am currently a Para in a second grade classroom.  Financial Literacy can be used in Language Arts & Social Studies when working with terms (Vocabulary and concepts) such as: goods, services, producers, consumers, deposit, savings, loans, interest, debt, etc. or incorporating books/stories that cover the topic of money, banking, savings, etc.  In math, ideas can include: applying ones and tens to pennies and dimes; less than, greater than and equal to when grouping different combinations of coins &/or dollars; writing out numbers (for writing on checks); making change; etc.
