I am a para in a general education setting providing support to students with IEP's. When we are in homeroom I would go over the basics of you make x amount of money a month, and demonstrate this with monopoly money. I would have the students do bill planning, budgeting, and how much they need to live on and how much they should save depending on their income. I would teach them useful stratagies to help when times are lean, and how not to over spend depending on what they have to work with. These are all things that are useful in today's society and to help stop our young people from going into financial debt that they may not be able to recover from.
