As a substitute teacher in an elementary school, my ability to incorporate financial literacy is limited. However, I do work with the calendar everyday and a simple idea would be to use money for the date. "Who can show me what 26 could look like using coins?" Or use the teacher's count of how many days we have been in school. Use that number as a way to think of it in terms of dollar bills, or coins. I also have 3 daughters so I plan on teaching them about the importance of saving money, limiting credit card use, and managing a checking account.
