Financial Literacy in Content Area

April Netley
I am a high school counselor and where I can see financial literacy in my content area is when I start to talk about planning for financing college costs.  Students are under the misconception that because “billions” of dollars go unclaimed in scholarships, they will somehow have little trouble funding their education.  I tell them that finding the funding for their education is not the hard part.  Repaying it is.  They don’t see the problem of taking out loans that will far exceed their ability to pay them back.  I am anxious to see what resources are available to get my message across in the second largest, (possible the largest) monetary investment of their lives.

If you are a watch enthusiast, or at least read about watches from time to time, you probably know about the Patek Philippe Nautilus. The 5711 has been seriously trending and has become nearly impossible to get. Just link ask your local AD for one and they will either tell you it's a 10 year waiting list or hang up on link you. So it should come as no surprise that Patek is pushing this classic (dare I say "iconic"?) model (along with other sporty models such as the 5172 and the link 5212A).
