Financial Literacy in Content Area

Mitch Wachs
I teach HS Math (Geometry, Alg II, Pre-Calc, Calc).  There are several places throughout each course that allows for discussion of financial literacy.  Specifically, I teach about compound interest, and how that works with saving, borrowing and credit.  There are many more opportunities to talk to high school kids about this area as well.  I spend a lot of time talking about credit card debt to seniors, in particular.

And then I began to wonder: Why do we have to be so boring about casebacks? link Why is it always the same binary choice: Leave them link open and reveal the movements under a link transparent material, or leave them closed and engrave them with messages like "Love forever, Dad" or more branding. The watch industry is creative with dials, why not with casebacks, as well?
