Financial Literacy in SS

Chris Govern
I teach primarily freshman Am Hist, and there are many opportunities to incorporate financial literacy to the way we attempt to link the past, present, and future...not just in history, but in their lives.  Whether it is mini-lessons that lock at the stock market during the 1920's, the depression of the 1930's, industrial output during the 1940's, or living the American Dream of the 1950's and 1960s...students are presented with opportunities to see the impact of sound decisions and poor decisions and what they can have on lifestyle.

Bernard works at a factory. He’s killed a boss in what the police push Noiret to agree is a crime of link passion. Noiret, a teddy bear of a guy with a permanent, imploring hangdog expression, can’t imagine his son link would do such a thing. Noiret does what he’s told. “I don’t want to be in breach of the law,” he tells a friend as they wait for a red light to turn green in order to link cross the street.
