Financial Literacy

I currently teach in a private Catholic Elementary school.  Since our students parents pay tuition I will be looking for ways to introduce the idea of financial literacy in my classroom. I teach music and band.  One possible way for me to teach financial literacy would be to set up a system with the band students in which they can earn "Band Bucs" for their practice, writing short papers on composers or about their instrument, etc. They will  be required to have a certain percentage of their "income" in savings, a certain amount for emergency and to spend. This idea is still in the brainstorming phase and I hope to use it this fall with the beginning band.
