Reflection:
I teach both 6th grade Math and Social Studies. With the new Social Studies Standards I will be looking for ways to implement the Financial Literacy/21st century skills into my curriculum. More than likely, I will be looking for ways to actually implement these standards into my math class. During the process of reading and watching the videos while taking this class I was thinking of ways to implement activities that would match with the standards shown above. I have already made contact with my local bank and asked if they would be willing to help me out. We will be working together coming up with ideas as I begin to plan ideas for next school year. It will be a work in progress. I have been told that we actually have until the 2020-21 school year before the standards have to be in place. The next couple years I will build towards getting all the standards in place. By taking this class I have gained some of the basic understanding of Financial Literacy.
