We discuss financial literacy during much of my 6th grade math content. We study words that have positive and negative value associations. We also take time to discuss interest and its impact on being able to purchase items. The idea of credit cards/debit cards is truly foreign to students. They watch their parents spend money all the time using those two transaction methods, but do not understand how that impacts their bank accounts.
