I teach 5th & 6th math. Financial literacy is an important part of the 6th grade standards. We are learning how to budget a checkbook, keep track of a savings account, make smart choices with their money, and figure out interest and sale prices on items. It is important for students to be exposed to these concepts at an early stage to help them be more successful in the future. I will use what I learn in this course to support what I am teaching in the classroom.
