Although we did not have a financial literacy course specifically I advocated for this for many years. As a math teacher I would incorporate it into the math curriculum and the students loved it. I wanted them to understand not only interest and credit card debt but also mortgages and annuities and specifically the math behind this. I wanted them to understand the power of compounding and more importantly time when it relates to investing and retirement. There is a definite need for this topic to be in every school and at all levels to give all learners a better financial awareness and confidence.
