Financial literacy in the classroom

I teach high school students and many don't know a lot about finances, check books and credit cards and it isn't covered in our math curriculum in the core classes. I have had a lot of students ask more about this because it is applicable to the real world. One area that you can talk about credit cards is when talking about exponential growth. They can see how good and bad interest works.

Pierre Jaquet-Droz was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1721. Jaquet-Droz founded a watchmaking workshop and grew it through a combination link of technical, artistic, and commercial skills, enabling it to reach international markets. His son Henri-Louis further developed link the family business and diversified production. At this time, a significant portion link of the manufacture's work found its way to Chinese dignitaries.
