I'm certified to substitute teach, but also work with youth in 4-H and FFA.
Financial Literacy is very important when working with 4-H record books and FFA Member's SAE books. I will be able to apply tips I learn through this course to help students with their record keeping. For example, an FFA member wants to purchase cattle for his/her SAE project. We can cover how the member will pay for the cattle; will the member need a loan? If the FFA member does need a loan, we will be able to talk about what he/she should present to the banker or family member lending the money, such as a budget. It would also be important to talk about credit and a down payment. When the member purchased the cattle, we would be able to discuss banking and making financial decisions.
I am looking forward to learning more about financial literacy to teach to the youth I work with.
