My takeaways from reading these articles reading these articles is that all forms of Art is important the the development and education of a child. Many times the Arts Program is what is cut from a school in order to save money but it should be one of the last ones to go. Art is one of the main things kids enjoy regardless if they are "good" or not. But art is in the eye of the beholder. What I may consider Art, others may not. For any and every subject, art can enhance the learning and provide a more hands on experience to your lesson.
