Referring back to the videos, articles, etc. that you read/watched about VTS, discuss the implications and use in your classroom of implementing and using VTS. Add at least one website link, with a brief description about it, that demonstrates a way to use VTS in a classroom.

I really have appreciated learning about VTS. It is more about letting students tell you what they are seeing and learning rather than the teacher or instructor telling them what to know. I think that this teaching strategy can empower students to be confident in their intuition and observational skills. I think VTS can be beneficial across all curricular areas, as it lets students wonder and increase their critical thinking. So often, as teachers, we are taught to disperse knowledge, with VTS, I think students will gain a deeper understanding rather than just receiving surface knowledge.

I chose this website, https://www.usf.edu/atle/teaching/visual-thinking-strategies.aspx, which gave a very clear, basic run through of VTS with clear and concise phrases to use, what it will look like in the classroom etc. I then clicked this link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAfWTAqfN5g, and was impressed at the clarity and real-time, live example of him teaching to an actual class of early elementary students. Watching this video made me feel like I can implement VTS in my own classroom successfully. It also reminded me that students have a lot to say when given the chance. I found it very interesting that he said to have students look at the image for a whole minute. As you and the students get more comfortable with the one concentrated minute, everyone gets better at looking, thinking, noticing, and aware of connections.
