What was new learning for you?
I was not aware that the space within a painting was broken down by foreground, middleground, and background and that these three areas are used to create depth.
What was a review?
I was already familiar with the terms line and shape, but from a mathematical point of view.
How can you apply these concepts to a content area you currently teach?
In third grade the students learn about shapes and geometry. I can use the terminology taught in this lesson to enhance my student's knowledge. For example, instead of teaching them each shape, I can also go into detail how each shape is created and the difference between a shape and a form.
