My takeaways from the readings are that art has been proven to be beneficial to students. It is beneficial for not only, improving academic scores, but also improving a student's attitude about the content they are learning. Integrating art into the classroom is a way for students to explore topics they may not have before. When teaching art in conjunction with other courses, such as reading or math, the information is so much more meaningful to the students.
In my classroom, I can integrate art by looking at my current curriculum and lesson plans and seeing what concepts students are having a hard time grasping. With that information, I can plan art-integrated lessons and activities to help the students gain a deeper understanding of the material.
