What speaks to you?
I really like that the students were able to look at the art and freely discuss it. I think it helps to allow students to take what they feel from the artwork and turn those into words to express themselves with peers. It also begins to have that discussion of why they think the artist created it.
Does it give you any ideas?
This gives me ideas to use as an anticipatory set. Let them take a look at a cartoon or piece of art and see if they can look at it and think about it and put those thoughts into words and have open discussions with their peers.
How do you integrate art into your current curriculum?
I think that I can integrate art into the curriculum by doing projects that also include art to represent what they have learned. I think artwork is something that can be incorporated when beginning a subject or unit.
