What speaks to you?
I really appreciated the video from Philip Yenawine discussing Visual Thinking. He put an enfaces on the eyes and how children use them as a tool the first time they open their eyes "to make sense out of the world when they open them as infants. They look around them and they reason - they figure out what is going around them by looking". I never had really thought about it from his perspective. Also, in the video Art Integration by EducationCloset
Does it give you any ideas?
I loved the emphasis he put on the importance of the eyes. I have been learning a lot about the importance of sensory learning in younger kids and I appreciated his take.
How do you integrate art into your current curriculum?
I have made it a goal this year to do more crafts in my class. It has helped motivate the students to complete work and studies have proven that it else deescalate behaviors. My building is a BD building so that is always the goal!
