This is an outstanding tool to use as a substitute teacher for feedback and other communication. There are certain times when leaving a hand written note is not an option. With gmail, I am able to add notes when i have more time to reflect on my assignment.
I like that gmail calendar where i can use it to track the dates in which i am substituting and I can make plans for days I am not teaching.
I also love the fact that i can recall an email that is sent. We all make mistakes when we are in a hurry, we may not provide an accurate detail of the day.
