Our school has integrated with Google over the past two years. Our email accounts are Gmail accounts. I love it! It is so easy to navigate and organize.
Anytime I get an email from a parent, I can put them into a folder either by class and section or by student name.
It is also very easy to communicate with other teachers and administrators. We are a big district and many times, I am not sure of emails, but if I start typing the name of the person I wish to contact, the email usually pops up.
I have also used Gmail to receive assignments and have it tied into my Google Voice account. As a Spanish teacher, I have students call my Google Voice Mailbox and leave messages in the target language. A copy is sent to my Gmail.
